Colin Michael Harvey was born in Stamford, Lincolnshire in 1953.  On leaving school he joined a commercial photographic company as an assistant printer/photographer.  Here he received broad experience in all aspects of photographic practice and went on to work for ten years in Corporate and Advertising through to Industrial and Commercial Photography.  His work has been published in magazines and books throughout the world.

He currently works in London as a Senior Photographer for a national art collection, alongside which he continues to develop his Fine Art and Landscape work.

In March 2003 he held his first ever exhibition, To The River, at the Crypt Gallery, St Martin in the Fields, in conjunction with artist Catherine Baker.  In 2004 he was commissioned by Worthing and Southlands Hospital to produce ten giclee prints from a series of original photographs, which now form part of the hospital’s growing collection.  In February 2005 a second joint exhibition, Common Ground, was held at the Sheridan Russell Gallery, London.

The essence of Colin Harvey’s fine art work is to capture a sense of conformity in the seemingly chaotic, which attempts to have an emotional as well as a visual impact on the viewer.
